Our story

Diana Daly, owner and director of Diana’s Swim Academy, began providing swimming classes for children and adults whilst employed at a Limerick hotel leisure centre in 2007. Diana recognised her natural ability to connect with her students beyond words developing a fresh and instinctive method of teaching and coaching swimming. Diana became steadfast and confident in her method of teaching, and as a result found her client base expanding very quickly.  In 2008 Diana made the natural decision to leave her leisure centre role and become a full-time businesswoman, swimming teacher and coach.

Today, Diana’s husband Jason is office administrator and manager of Diana’s Swim Academy and the team is comprised of a number of expert, qualified swimming teachers and coaches.

Meet Diana

Meet Diana

A national Lithuanian champion in the 100m breaststroke and a multi-champion in various national and international swimming competitions, Diana’s prolific swimming portfolio also includes coaching competitive club as well as high-performance and Olympic athletes. Diana has over 10 years experience in the area of professional swimming teaching and coaching. Although Diana herself didn’t learn to swim until aged nine – quite late in life for a competitive swimmer – she immediately developed a lasting love for the water.

Further to her Bachelor’s Degree in Sports and Professional Coaching Certification from Lithuanian Sport University, Diana is a fully-qualified Swim Teacher, Swim Coach, Baby and Pre-School Swimming Teacher, Baby and Pre-School Swimming Tutor, Aqua Yoga Teacher and Pool Lifeguard.

Diana is inspired to witness her students overcoming their swimming fears and phobias and she loves to watch each person grow in confidence and skill in the water. Mother to 4-year-old Max, Diana delights in seeing babies, toddlers, children and their parents beam with happiness and pride as they share in the success of their water-based achievements, big and small.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

My daughter was originally enrolled for 2 weeks in swim camp, having had no prior swimming lessons. She has made great progress with Diana and she absolutely loves it. Even as an observer I feel like I am learning too. Couldn't rate Diana high enough, a wonderful teacher! My daughter has completed 3 weeks of camp and looking forward to continuing.

I finally decided to learn how to swim in my late 30s! I signed up for private lessons with Irmantas who is a fantastic teacher. He is very patient and has a great sense of humour! The pool is also nice and quiet. Couldn't recommend lessons here enough for anyone who is thinking about doing it.

Damien

Elena started going to the swimming lessons at Diana’s Swim Academy when she was 10 months. Since then, every Saturday has been very special, she has had lots of fun with Dad at the swimming pool, the 'water playground'. Now, she is nearly 3 and her favorite part is jumping in the water and splashing.
